Catch up

I started this blog about a week late. Our trip actually began when we left Charlotte, NC on Sunday, May 11th, Mother's Day (has to be a good omen)!! Anyway, it was a long trip here, flight delays, screaming kids, smelly passengers, the whole bit, but now we are here. I am very pleasantly surprised by our room at the Pension Uno. We are in Room 3, have a very large armoire, a very small stand-up shower, and only CNN in English on TV. This is the perfect time of year to come here, as the weather is perfect. Probably in the 70s during the day, so no AC is not a problem. Day one, we just rested and walked down the hill to Kaufland's (grocery store) to get water and to try out our Czech language skills. NOT VERY GOOD...the girl behind the counter at the fast food stand outside the Kauflands laughed as we tried to order a hamburger (not real beef), a chicken sandwich, and fries. We followed Craig from ivfvacation.com's advice and stayed up until 9pm here (6 hour time difference) to try and beat the jetlag....even though we did not sleep on the plane! Yikes, we were tired. That's the end of day 1.
